Apprentices begin their careers by registering with the State of Colorado and working under direct supervision. This stage involves thousands of hours of hands-on training focused on safety, tools, electrical theory, and job-site practices.
To earn a Residential Wireman license, an electrician must complete 4,000 hours of documented residential electrical experience and pass a state licensing exam. This license allows independent residential electrical work.
Journeyman Electricians complete 8,000 hours of supervised electrical work and 288 hours of formal classroom education, followed by a comprehensive state exam. This level represents a combination of real-world experience and technical education.
A Master Electrician holds the highest level of licensure in Colorado and is responsible for system design, supervision, and overall code compliance. This level typically reflects 10,000+ documented hours of experience and successful completion of the Master Electrician exam. All work performed by Gaddie Electric is overseen by a licensed Master Electrician.
